Tom Mosher vs. Fonseca Films

As some of you may know Tom Mosher will be appearing in the No Cassettes project being put out by Fonseca Films. All the filming was done in SF while Tom was on his globetrotting tour last month. Looking good guys!

Tom Briggs Two New Tricks

So over the past little while I've been trying to come up with some new creative backwards tricks. Here are two that I came up with a while ago but only recently got on film. As far as I know these haven't been done before so enjoy!

Tom Briggs Bike Check

Over the past little while I've gotten a few e-mails asking about the bikes that all of us here at Skitch ride, so we've decided to do bike checks for all the riders on the team. I'll try and post one bike a week until we've got them all up here on the site so make sure you check back if you're interested in our rides.

Today we'll start with my ride which I've been rolling on for about a year or so now.

Saturday In The City Web Edit

This is a short web edit we put together of Duncan Lewis' day in Toronto. This was all shot on Saturday March 14th, 2009. Nothing epic here, just good times with an old friend.

SHREDACLE!!!

This past weekend Duncan Lewis (Skitch team member and owner of Witch Hunt Clothing) came down to Toronto from Montreal to ride for the day and it was awesome! We blasted around the city for a few hours hitting spots and it was like the old days back in Vancouver. Duncan is one of my favorite people to ride with and fortunately we had our man Ted Power in tow to snap these amazing photos. A huge thank you goes out to Ted for making us look so good. We are currently working on a short web edit from that day that will hopefully be done in the next day or two as soon as I can find some time to edit it down.

This was one of the best days of riding I've had in a long time. If you're reading this go call your buddies and go riding because it's the best thing you can possibly do, have fun!

Fixed in Cuba 2009

I recently spent a week riding bikes with my Dad in Cuba. I'm not sure how interested everyone will be in these but I just thought I would share some pictures. If you ever get a chance to go there I highly suggest you do, it is a beautiful country.
Part way along our 100km journey from Matanzas to Havana that we did our first day there.

First fixed gear barspin in Cuba?

This was the craziest drop in ramp at Cuba's one and only skatepark, it was so steep I was scared just standing on top of it.

My Dad with Havana in the background.

It doesn't get any better than this.

Mosher In Vancouver

Mosher was in Vancouver yesterday and rode with Sam Miller at the Quilchena skatepark. Here are two photos taken from Jennifer Carroll's flickr page. Thanks Jenn.Tom Mosher

There was also a rare Jamie Hooper sighting behind the counter of Super Champion.

Mosher in Seattle

Well Mosher has come to the final day of his trip and will be back in Toronto this evening. Here a few photos of him in Seattle tearing it up. All photos were poached from Zlog . Thanks Zach.

(Edit: I just realized this was shot at the island in SF but the others appear to be Seattle)

Mosher in Portland

Tom Mosher recently spent the day in Portland (I believe it was yesterday) hanging with a crew and working on some new moves. Here are a few photos snapped by Maxwell M. Manilow.

Clearing Out the Archieves

Well I guess today is all about posting old stuff that never made it on the blog. This is a short video clip that never really saw the light of day. It was shot by our good friend Adam Keller in one afternoon at Barspins and Baby Jesus in Vancouver and is basically just a montage of us all falling down or simply just looking like we can't ride our bikes properly. The final trick though is worth noting, Ten Ten Temmyo with a no handed wheelie to two and half barspins by Tom Briggs while going in the opposite direction.

I would just like to point out that this was not a serious trailer and was basically us just goofing around. There will be no video and yes Adam did spell "coming" wrong along with getting the title wrong (it should be Barspins and Baby Jesus and not Baby Jesus and Barspins). Ahh how I long for the old days.

Gerry Gauthier

Speaking of old photos here are a couple Kyle Johnson pictures of the extremely elusive Gerry Gautier. Most of you probably never heard of Gerry but that's probably the way he would want it. Gerry was one of the best riders I've ever seen but was perpetually camera weary. There are only a few pictures of him floating around on the net and this one piece of video footage. Anyone that ever got to ride with this kid knows how good he was. He is the only person I know of to ever go over vert on a fixed gear in a fullpipe. I was just hoping someone out there might know where he is these days? Me and him used to meet up at the Jesus Bank in Vancouver most summer nights and ride for hours but since I moved east and he moved to Victoria we've sort of lost touch, so if anyone knows of Gerry's where abouts or if Gerry reads this blog, let me know. Also if there are any other Gerry Gauthier photos or videos out there please send them to me at skitchclothing@gmail.com.

Gerry appears at 0:45, 1:14 and numerous background appearances

Team News

Well, it looks like Mosher is finally wrapping up his trip. From what I've heard he'll be in Seattle this evening taking part in Future Tense again. From the sounds of it the trip has been awesome and I can't wait to see the photos and video footage that he's compiled. As soon as I get a hold of some of these things I'll be sure to post them up here.

In other news Duncan Lewis is making the trek over from Montreal to Toronto to ride for the weekend. There have been talks of a possible web edit (no promises) coming out of this which would include both Duncan and myself (Tom Briggs). If the web edit doesn't happen, you can be sure that you'll see some photos of what went down.

I also recently became aware that these photos by Tobias Romaniuk of Duncan Lewis had never been posted here on the Skitch blog. These were shot back in the summer of 2007 and were originally posted on Trackosaurus Rex. I just thought I should share, in case any of you missed them the first time around.
