The Revival In Fixed Mag

About a month ago I was asked to sit down and write an article about The Revival for Fixed Mag out of London, England. I got my first chance to see the article today online and it looks great. A huge thank you to these guys for putting out such a killer publication and for supporting this project, we appreciate it more than you know.
You can also spot our boy Wonka throughout this whole issue. The kid is everywhere.

Mosher in New Volume Bikes Catalogue

Tom Mosher appears in the new Volume Catalogue available online here. Photo by our great friend Ted Power. Awesome job guys!

The Warriors Race Recap!

The Warriors race took place this past weekend in Vancouver and judging from the pictures and the few tidbits I've heard, it sounded like a blast! One of the biggest races in Vancouver history with nearly 100 entrants. This rivals the Look Ma No Brakes race that was put on a little over a year ago.

I can happily report that one of our very own team members captured the first place prize. Duncan Lewis with his bike gang, The David Suzuki's crushed the field and won some bad ass prizes! The final results were as follows.

FIRST: The David Suzukis - Meat, Duncan, Jay and Cody.

SECOND: Mykal, Dylan, Jeff from Philly, Jesse (RIP)

THIRD: The U-nics - Lucas, Mathew, Wall-e (RIP) and Travis(Hustle Jr.)

FOURTH: The E-Lites - Camilo, Skylar, Jeff? (ghostrider) and Khaled

FIFTH: The East Van Jaws - Jabber, Louise, Simon and Benoit.

Here are some photos captured by our good buddy Ted from his Commercial Drive checkpoint.

Your Winners, The David Suzuki's!

Hold Fast

While we're on the topic of amazing brands. I'd like to once again thank Hold Fast for hooking up The Revival crew with the best toe straps on the market. These things really are the real deal. Go get a pair for yourself.

Raceface

We'd like to thank Raceface for hooking up The Revival crew with the new Decadence Cranks, Bars and Stems. Raceface puts out some of the best parts in the world and I can't wait to try all this new stuff out. Again a huge thank you to everyone at Raceface for believing in this project.

The Other Side of the Pond

Our boy Wonka is working over in Switzerland right now on the new GOrilla frames and personally I can't wait to see it. It's going to be sick! During the Bike Film Festival in Zurich Wonka was busy shredding and here's some of the photo evidence of what went down. Miss ya buddy, lets chill when you get back from Europe, maybe a Canada trip or I'll head back down to NYC.

The Revival in Vancouver

The Revival has been filming in Vancouver off and on for the past few months but today it swings into high gear. The New York City trip is done and Seattle's footage is almost fully complete. Vancouver is next in line and I expect that some serious hill bombing is about to go down. Skitch team rider Duncan Lewis is hooking up with Wayne Morhart today to film. Ten Ten and Jamie Hooper are also expected to begin filming in the next few days as well. I can't wait to see the footage these guys put together.

The Revival NYC Recap

Well the Revival trip to New York City is now over. Months and months of planning all climaxing in a week and half of the greatest fixed gear riding to date. It takes every bit of strength I have to hold back on the details of what took place but trust me, it will be worth the wait when you see it on video. A lot of people will probably say that I’m biased because it is a film that I am helping to create and yes I am, but the level of fixed gear riding went up more than a few notches this past week and a half.

Tons of skin was lost and bruises where a plenty. I even managed to chip a bone in my shin but didn’t find out until we got back to Canada. I’m sure most people have now seen the photos of Wonka’s busted GOrilla frame and all I can say is wait till you see some of his footage, things went crazy.

The largest and most technical tricks were all captured by our great friend Wayne Morhart and we will be premiering the film in mid November. I would like to thank everyone involved with the trip including the riders. Torey “Hfwido” Thornton, Wonka, Tom Mosher, Jeremiah of Hold Fast and John “Prolly” Watson. I’d also like to thank a few notables who made our trip even better by just being involved. A huge thank you goes to Tron for opening up her place for more than a few of us to crash at, and a big thanks to all her roommates for being so understanding. Thank you to Blayne Williams for being our trusted mechanic and impromptu team manager, you made the trip a million times better. And thank you to everyone else we met in New York City, you guys were all awesome. On a personal note I’d like to thank the amazing food of New York City, you make being vegan that much easier.

A thank you again to Jeremiah for hooking up the whole crew with Hold Fast Straps. These things are the real deal. I’ve had mine for a week now and they’re awesome. Go buy a pair from one of the best dudes in Fixed Gear.

I wish I could turn back time and just do it all over again but that will just have to wait for The Revival 2, who knows?
