Justin Morris

Justin is a good friend of ours here at Skitch and he's recently begun a project documenting the bike messenger culture in Toronto. He's an amazingly talented photographer and designer and I thought I would share a few images he's recently taken in conjunction with this on going project. You can see more of his work here.

Future Tense!!!

We are sponsoring Future Tense in Seattle for the first time this month and we couldn't be more excited! Zach has done such a good job with this event and we're proud to support the Seattle scene that has brought so much to the fixed gear landscape. From the sounds of it this is going to be one hell of an evening so make sure you get there and have a blast with all our Seattle friends.

BFF NYC

So I stumbled across a few pictures over at Trick Track, of the Bicycle Film Fest festivities that went down. They also included probably the most gangster photo of Mosher and Torey you'll ever see, hahaha, you guys look awesome. All photos by PedalPiff, thanks.

Jake Ricker X The Revival

Jake Ricker took a few shots as the action went down in Seattle while filming for The Revival. Wayne has been super hard at work with the project and the footage is nothing less than amazing! I've seen a bit of it so far and it literally leaves your jaw on the floor the whole time. Stay tuned for a fresh new trailer coming soon.

Prolly BFF Edit V.2

BFF09 Week Edit pt. 2 from John Prolly on Vimeo.

Prolly posted up this edit of the craziness that went down at the NYC Bike Film Fest. The clip features both Mosher and Torey (who almost gets taken out by a flying baseball). After watching this I'm very excited for the Toronto BFF in August, it's going to be awesome!

Hfwido X Mosher

I don't know if this is actually news worthy for anyone out there other than the dudes involved, but with the Skitch team being spread out over the whole continent it's always nice when they meet for the first time in person. Mosher is in NYC taking in the Bike Film Festival and has been riding a bunch with Torey Thornton. Hopefully some riding photos will surface but for now here is a meeting of two of the best riders in the world.

Oh and here's a photo of Mosher with an ol' Texas reach around on Tony Fast. I can only imagine the shenanigans that went down during the BFF.

TO Track Tricks, June 16th, 2009

This weeks T.O. Track Tricks was a riot! Things got crazy with some intense games of footdown and bungy bike. We even had a bike break this week with George killing his Alpha while ghost riding it into a wall of the arena. This week I thought I would introduce a few of the regulars and a new face or two that came out for the trick night. Photos are all by our homie Ted Power.

Blain is a real regular. He's out here every week having a good time and this week he showed up with some fresh ink. That's a Hammer Head Shark battling a Giant Squid while both sporting cowboy hats. Awesome dude!

Our man Clay riding Mike Giants old Trek. Clay is a graphic designer from SF and an all around good dude. Times are always good when Clay is out riding. You can check out Clay's design work here.

Alex came out for the first time this evening. He's from New Zealand and has got some tricks on lock! Alex also did his very first fakie barspin this evening.

Myself on the left and one of the best guys in Toronto, John. John is an awesome dude and we always have a blast whether it's riding bikes or BBQing on his rooftop or checking out a Jays game, it's always a good time with John.

George on the left and Mosher on the right. George unfortunetely broke this bike this evening but I think he had a good time doing it so I guess it worked out good in the end. George has been a regular since I moved to Toronto and is one of the only riders here doing grinds on his track bike. I'm sure most people that read this blog know who Tom Mosher is by now.

Steve is one of the great dudes that comes out to trick night every week. He's a quiet guy for the most part but one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He also won foot down this week I think and he won track stand twister the week before.

The Man, The Legend, Ted Power! Ted is our man behind the lens here in Toronto. Ted is out at T.O. Track Tricks every week shooting the action that goes down. You've probably seen his work up on Trackosaurus Rex, Prolly's Blog and in the pages of Fixed Magazine. The dude has skills, and no he doesn't always ride a cruiser bike, he's usually found rolling on his Fuji Track.

Mosher getting crazy on my girlfriends cruiser bike. Cross footed leg over skid on a coaster hub.

Mosher mid footplant spin.

If you read this blog you probably know that this is me (Tom Briggs) but I thought this was a good photo so I figured I'd include it.

This is obviously not everyone that is involved with T.O. Track Tricks, there are dozens more, but I thought it would be nice to put some names to faces for everyone out there. This is a small part of the Toronto fixed gear community and we hope that one day we all get to ride with all of you readers out there who check the Skitch Blog. Thanks.

Bicycle Film Fest Trailer!

The Bicycle Film Fest trailer is up online and it's awesome! You can spot me (Tom Briggs) at the beginning doing the leg over skid and barspin as well as through out the trailer primarily as the letter "B". I can also been seen as the letter "B" in the official NYC poster. Our good friend Toby Spunt is also featured throughout the trailer and can be spotted as the letter "B" at the very end of the trailer. Tom Mosher was scheduled to be featured in the trailer as well but I guess some footage hit the cutting room floor; hopefully it will surface at some point because I know a 720 Keospin was hit while wearing a giant letter. Mosher can been seen on the NYC poster as the letter "I," For the record letters were extremely hard to ride in but we had fun doing it.

Wonka

Wonka is not officially on the Skitch team but we are hoping to film with him for the Revival video that is still in production (new trailer coming soon) and with these three new web edits popping up on Prolly's blog I can't help but re-post them. That rail grind is absolutely epic! Way to go Wonka!

TO Track Tricks 2009

Every Tuesday here in Toronto we get together for TO Track Tricks and this week was a real good turn out. I personally spent more time riding Toby's flatland bike then doing fixed gear tricks but I had just spent 8 hours on my bike working so chilling felt like a better option. Mosher also made it down to the arena for only the second time this year so it was really really good to see him again. Here are a random sampling of photos shot by our buddy Ted Power. Take a look at his site to see more.
